China Cat was rescued from living outdoors to become that spoiled ginger tabby cat that she was but now I am here and I came from the Open Door Sanctuary and I am the spoiled ginger tabby cat now! However, I miss China Cat living here with me and I wish that I had met Willow........
This morning my Lap Lady let me open up one of my birthday presents. We went out to the porch because it's such a lovely morning and I love my porch anyway! My first present today is a wonderful cat pillow with catnip inside of it. I was so excited. I just kept rolling all around on it and even under itWillow was becoming curiouser and curiouser. Finally she came over to check it out. Now Willow understands... It's CatNip!!! Right in my Pillow!!! I love my birthday pillow... And I get more presents later on today!
I wonder what Willow is getting me for my birthday??? Maybe some Temptations??? That would be a terrific Birthday present... I don't know how she would be able to get them... I guess that I'll wait until tomorrow!
Louie and I had such a great nap out on the couch yesterday, we decided to come back out to do it again! Hey, Louie, isn't this a great way to spend a lazy Sunday? I think that I need to rotate. Don't worry, Louie, you aren't in my way...
After waiting and waiting since yesterday, this morning I was finally out in the porch again. On Friday my Lap Lady wouldn't let me out because it was about to start raining, thundering and lightning. Although as it wasn't doing any of those at the time, I really should have been allowed out. ~~~~~ Lux had asked me if I was able to go out so I wanted to show him...Finally I'm Out! ~~~~~ There is no problem being out today - the sun is shining and it's not too humid...yet. First I jumped up on the table so I could see my yard better. It's very important to look all around the yard as there may be intruders.Next I leap up onto the counter because it's about 2 feet taller than the table. Up there I can see everything. I always like to visit with Louie the Lamb. Sometimes Louie sits on the couch with me. But today he has been keeping watch on the counter. He let me know that there have been no intruders. We are safe!Louie and I are going to go take a nap on the couch. My porch is my bliss! I am one very Happy Cat, indeed!
Hey Mom, I've been sitting here forever... Obviously, Willow doesn't want to play... Look at her collapsed up there on the chair...Come on, are you not paying attention??? Don't you hear me? I want to go out ...
I love my screened-in porch. Not only are there lots of good resting places, but there is the screen itself.The screens are very nice to rub my toes on. Sometimes I would like to go out of the porch because there is grass just waiting to be eaten. ~~~~~ Come on, Mom, Open the Door, OK?????
This is my entry for Monty Q's Contest: ~~~~~ Having tried for a month, this is my best Full Monty...
it's kind-of-like I gave it my sunshine kind of twist!~~~~~ China Cat Sunflower is ready to board the Friday Ark! Everyone, go check out all the kitties!
We received presents from Kashim and Othello! Willow and I participated in the contest they held and they sent us some presents for participating! ~~~~~ I was so excited to see my name on the envelope. It certainly had very interesting smells on it too. And look, they wrote us a letter too! It even has their pictures on the top of it. Boy, they are some terrific looking catboys! There were mousies and balls to play with. Willow, get out of my way! You can't tell with Willow in the way, but I am playing with a leopard colored cat ball! These are such fun... And this gray mousie makes rattly noises! I had better catch my breath for a minute... Nope, it's still playtime! Thank you so much for such fun toys, Kashim & Othello!
George over at Crews' Views issued a really fun challenge. He said to see how many cats you can find that are nose twins with you. ~~~~~ Right away I knew who not only has a nose like mine but even her face looks rather like mine!
~~~~~ My nose twin is the lovely Momma Grace! Here's the two of us... What do you think? And look we both take care of "our" kittens too - Willow is not really my kitten but I love her as if she were my kitten. Ruse and Audace really are Momma Grace's kittens. Aren't they an adorable family?!?!? Hey, do the kitten's noses look like mine too?!?!?
Willow and I accepted Karl's dare to make friends with another species. We found Bogart who is an Airedale Terrier with a terrific blog. ~~~~~ We emailed him that we would like to be friends and he wrote back that he lives with "4 kitties and have a bunch of other cat bloggers that I visit too, so I'd LOVE to be friends!" ~~~~~ I am so excited to have my first dog friend. Willow posted today about Bogart with lots of pictures of him. So I decided to make a collage of his pictures to show everyone how great he is. ~~~~~ The cat in the collage is named Behemoth. In the bottom two pictures they were laughing while their mom was trying to take a picture of Bogart's new ear trimming - known as "ear-tography" according to Bogart!
Last Sunday I told you how my Lap Lady puts ice in my water bowl when it is hot in my screened-in porch. Well, she brought some out for me this morning. She forgot to bring that flashy box with her and I enjoyed quite a bit of my ice water before she came back with it. So, she was not in time to see me actually enjoying the water. However, she did find it necessary to take pictures of me during my all -important grooming session. You can see I was doing some fast grooming as I look a little blurry here.Then I had to check to make sure that I didn't need my Lap Lady to get me some more ice - nope, not yet... So I can nap for a while and then have some more ice water! As Jeter Harris says, "Life is Grate!" ~~~~~ And speaking of Jeter, his brother, Mickey Mantle tagged me for a meme and I will get to work on that after my nap - thanks, Mickey!
Finally my Lap Lady has come back to do my typing for me! ~~~~~ Willow and I were a few of the winners in Dragonheart's Scavenger Hunt Contest. I would like to say congratulations to the other winners in the contest: Samantha & Tigger, Miss Peach and Kaze. I also want to say here, "Thanks for a great contest, Dragonheart" and it was fun having my Food Lady try to remember German that she learned in high school! ~~~~~ It is extremely hot here in the midwest, and getting hotter, and I totally love it. My Big Janitor loves it also but Willow and my Lap Lady are loving the air conditioning inside. Hey, it's time to board the Friday Ark!
I just found out that Monty Q's babybean was hurt with burns from spilling hot soup and had to be airlifted to a hospital on Saturday. Everycat is sending purrs that she'll be OK. Darling Millie has an update today. (And thanks to Skeezixfor the graphic.)
Nothing like relaxing on a sunny Sunday. I am one cat that loves the heat and even though it's expected to be at least 99 degrees, I hope to stay out here all day long! ~~~~~ Don't worry - my Lap Lady keeps a bowl of water out in the porch at all times. She even puts ice cubes in it when it's this hot! Then she goes in the pool or back in the house with the A/C!
